Massage Therapy is My Activism

Being a massage therapist is my way of offering space for individual and communal healing and restoration. As a healthcare professional, I uphold the Hippocratic oath to “do no harm.” For me, this commitment means finding ongoing ways to deepen my knowledge/training and to always ask how I can best create spaces of safety and support both within and beyond the treatment room.

Healing is simultaneously individual and communal. Therefore, it cannot fully take root when so many people suffer from systemic injustices and traumas. The harmful systems of racism, sexism, ableism, classism, and homophobia remain intertwined in our tissues and muscles. To be the best massage therapist I can be, I must speak out and work against the violent systems that deny the dignity and wholeness of my clients and community members.

Want to Partner?

I am always looking for ways to connect with and support the community. This looks different for each partnership, but past collaborations include providing chair massages at community wellness events, regularly running discounts to help make my services more accessible, and donating some of my profits to local nonprofits. So reach out, and let’s brainstorm how we might collaborate!
